Area is already set error in Magento 2.2.4 and 2.2.5
Error Message:
Something went wrong while saving this configuration: Area is already set
This is a known Magento issue affecting versions 2.2.4 and 2.2.5. It is unrelated to third-party products, including ours. An official fix was scheduled for Magento 2.2.6.

What the Patch Fixes
This patch resolves problems merchants experienced when attempting to change a storefront’s applied theme in Magento 2.2.4 and 2.2.5.
Recommendations
- If running Magento 2.2.4:
Upgrade to 2.2.5, then apply the patch.
- If running Magento 2.2.5:
Apply the patch directly, or upgrade to 2.2.6 (or later) once available.
✅ Applying the official patch or upgrading Magento will resolve the “Area is already set” error.
