How to configure shipping / delivery method in Magento 2

A wide range of shipping/delivery methods are built into Magento 2, alongside integrations for major carriers. Below are the native methods you can configure without creating third-party carrier accounts.


To configure any shipping/delivery method, go to:

Admin → Stores → Settings → Configuration → Sales → Delivery Methods


Methods available by default

  • Flat Rate — Single, fixed shipping fee per order or item.

  • Free Shipping — Offer free shipping, optionally with a minimum order amount.

  • Table Rates — Define rates based on weight, price, or item count and destination.

Tips

  • Most Delivery Methods settings are Website-scope. If you run multiple websites, configure each website as needed.
  • For Free Shipping, confirm any Minimum Order Amount and Applicable Countries settings so the method appears only when intended.
  • To use real-time rates from carriers like UPS/USPS/FedEx/DHL, configure those carriers under the same Delivery Methods section using valid credentials from the carrier.
