How to Enable/Disable Breadcrumbs in Magento 2

Sometimes, your customers can end up getting lost in your store, especially if they've navigated through a few pages. Breadcrumbs can serve as a navigational aid to let them know exactly where they currently are, and allow them to return to a previous page at the click of a button. Hansel and Gretel weren't joking around!

Enabling Breadcrumbs on your Magento 2 instance is quite easy, and can be done directly via the Admin Options. Here's how you can do that:

Head into your Magento Admin panel and navigate into:

Stores -> Settings -> Configuration -> Web -> Default Pages -> Show Breadcrumbs for CMS Pages

Set the option to Yes, and Save the Config.

Afterward, flush the Magento Cache from the Cache Management section, and your Breadcrumbs should be displayed on CMS pages.

However, if you'd like a cleaner page design, our Pearl Theme for Magento 2 makes additional options for Breadcrumbs available to you, including the option to remove them from Category and Product Pages, as well as choosing colors for the text and backgrounds.

To find the options available for Breadcrumbs in the theme, head into:

1. Admin -> WeltPixel -> Frontend Options -> Breadcrumbs

2. Admin -> WeltPixel -> Category Page -> General Settings -> Remove Breadcrumbs [Yes/No]
